Nachdem Catherine Monroy, die immer an das Gute in Männern geglaubt hat, ihren Mann beim Fremdgehen erwischt und nach nur sechs Monaten Ehe ihre dritte Scheidung durchgebracht hat, ist sie nun wieder frei. Sie beschließt ein Singledasein zu leben, sodass sie von der Männerwelt nichts mehr wissen möchte und nimmt die Komplimente und Aussagen der Testosteronfraktion, ihr gegenüber, nur noch als Lügen und dumme Anmachsprüche auf, um sie ins Bett zu bekommen. Auch wenn Catherine die Vierzig überschritten hat, sieht sie immer noch verführerisch gut aus, zumal sie sich stets adrett kleidet und immer auf ihr Äußeres achtet.
Als sie eines Tages, nachdem sie noch lange im Büro zu tun hatte, sich erst spät auf den Heimweg machen konnte, streikt ihr Wagen mitten auf der Landstraße. Und wie es der Zufall so will, kommt auf der selben Landstraße John Darnell vorbei, der auch noch Mechaniker mit eigener Werkstatt und zur Zeit ebenfalls nicht in festen Händen ist. Nachdem John Catherine anbietet sie nach Hause zu fahren und sie sich am nächsten Tag in seiner Werkstatt wieder treffen, verliebt sich John in Catherine und versucht mit allen Möglichkeiten der Umwerbung, Catherine für sich zu gewinnen. Doch Catherine verspottet John nur und steht ihm skeptisch gegenüber.
Mary, Catherine's beste Freundin, schaut sich das Spiel, aus psychologischer Sicht und als unparteiische Person, an. Irgendwann, als John fast aufgibt und Mary ihn, von seinen verzweifelten Gedanken befreit, indem sie ihm einen guten Rat gibt, wäscht Mary Catherine den Kopf. Ja, sie droht ihr sogar die Freundschaft zu kündigen, wenn sie sich nicht wieder in die Catherine zurück verwandelt, als die sie sie kennengelernt hat.
Nachdem John beschlossen hat, Catherine nicht mehr nachzulaufen, bemerkt auch Catherine endlich, das sie was für John empfindet. Doch John dreht das Spiel um.
After Catherine Monroy, who always believed in the goodness in men, caught her husband in cheating and after only six months of marriage her third Divorce has brought by, now she is free. She decides to live a single life, so she wants to know nothing of the man's world and take the compliments and statements of testosterone fraction, opposite her, only as lies and silly pick-up lines in order to get her into bed. Although Catherine has exceeded forty, she still looks seductively good, especially since she always neatly dressed and always pays attention to her appearance.
As her after she had to do for a long time in the office one day, could make only late on the way home, strike her car in the middle of the highway. And as luck would have it, comes by on the same road John Darnell, who is a mechanic with his own garage and isn't going steady. After John, Catherine offering to drive her home and they meet the next day in his garage again, John falls in love with Catherine and tried with all possibilities of courtship to win Catherine for themselves. But Catherine mocked John only and is skeptical about him.
Mary, Catherine's best friend is looking at the game, from a psychological point of view and as an impartial person. Eventually, as John and almost gives up, Mary freed him from his desperate thoughts, by giving him some good advice, Mary washes Catherine the head. Yes, she threatens her even to terminate the friendship if she don't returned back into the Catherine, as she has met her.
After John has decided not to run after Catherine, Catherine finally noticed that she feels something for John. But John turns the game.
